Ugh. Big weekend again. Friday night stay-in at Glenn. This time, we hung out in Joee's room and had wine. I had a few drinks before totally knocking out on the bed. I so considerately occupied the whole bed. The last thing I remember before falling asleep was Joee talking bout me invading his bed, only slipping in and out of my slumber to watch snippets of Jackass and yelling out the appropriate profanities whenever something stupid happens. I only woke up when everyone finished watching another movie. Went to Amanda's room to complete the rest of my sleep at 5am.

Northland for some grocery shopping in the afternoon. Gymm-ed after that. Went for Attack/Pump class which was something weird for me. Usually, I'll go for Attack Pump back-to-back classes. But this was like a combo of both. We did the first 3 tracks of Attack, then switched to Pump (Squats, Chest, Back), then back to Attack till the power track, then back to Pump (triceps, biceps, lunges, shoulders) then finished off with Attack. And cos we had to shift between Attack and Pump, we didn't use step boards. It was quite a challenge for me man. Cos my body wasn't conditioned to do the exercises like that.

At night, I went to Glenn. Hung out in Daph's room before Joee had a Macs craving. So the lot of us, (Daph, Amanda, Joee, Ling Chi, Ana and I) braved the cold and walked up to Macs outside our school. I had an ice-cream cone which was totally yum. Dairy food here is so much better than in SG. Who cares if the thing costs a buck?

After that, we went back to Glenn and hung out in Sheng's room. There, Amanda skyped with her parents while we tried to be stupid in the background. Then, I decided to see if my parents were online. Worst decision ever. My dad was online an he was shirtless. Not only that, he started flexing his muscles which scared my friends. They said that he's huge. Haha. I couldn't stop laughing.

Had to go back to sleep cos I needed to go to church with my uncle and his family the next morning(this morning). And despite stupid daylight saving, I still felt that I hadn't gotten enough sleep. I totally fell asleep in church and I think the pastor saw cos the congregation was quite small. We went to some shopping centre nearby for lunch. Ate at a food court. Had indian food. Actually, it wasn't authentic Indian food. It was tandoori chicken wrapped in roti. Delicious nonetheless. Walked around a bit. Went to the Asian groceries place and got myself some kaya and dried longans (the kind used to make cheng tng) and egg tofu. Also bought myself 2 plan T-shirts and leggings from Factorie. The 3 items only cost me a cheap $22. Yay!!

Shiteous day. Won't bore you with the details. I've vented already so don't bother asking.

Thunder storm today. Joee's room was flooded as hell. Daph and I helped him move into his new room and we hung around there till dinner. I came back to Chisholm to cook while they ate at Glenn.

I'm planning to move to Glenn. Looked for the office staff yesterday who told me to look for my RA who told me to look for the office staff. Went today but they were closed. They seem to be closed all the time. Like fucking self-declared holiday and extended lunch break. KNN! After being here, I have learnt the extensive uses of "fuck". Like when they say, "Let's get fucked up tonight!!!" It doesn't mean to get screwed senseless, it means to get dead drunk. Haha. Which reminds me, vanilla vodka is just about the most pleasant smelling thing I've smelled. I'm going to the city to get it soon to put in my room and have a drink as and when I want to.

This weekend was one crazy one. I spent Friday night in Glenn in Daphne's room cos we were hanging out and by the time we finished talking, it was 2.45am. So we slept perpendicular to the bed with our legs resting on chairs we set up. Most uncomfortable position ever. By morning time, I gave up and just curled into a ball, much to Daphne's dismay. In the morn, I followed Gen, Jerilyn, Jia Lin and Jia Lin's friend Evan to the city. Wanted to go to the Asian groceries store and to the supermarket to prepare for Daphne's birthday celebrations that Amanda planned for that night. We went to some dim sum place in Chinatown which was surprisingly good. Quite authentic, except for the fried calamari and chicken pies. Egg tarts were superb!

After that, we met their friend Hiroto and we walked around a bit before Hiroto left and we went to DFO. Shopped like siao. Loads of factory outlets there with things from Country Road going for as cheap as $9.95! Bought me some shorts for $10. Didn't really buy many clothes cos I separated from the group to get groceries from Coles. When I returned, I met up with everyone and we sat at Chocolate Lounge for a rest and for some hot chocolate. We left the place after a while and only returned to La Trobe at 8pm. There, Amanda and I met and we chiong-ed cookie baking like siao. We were in such a rush to finish cos we wanted to surprise Daphne at Glenn with the Glenn group. When we were done with the last batch, we totally didn't wait for them to cool, I just grabbed the whole sheet while Amanda grabbed the rest and we dashed out. I even left my specs in my room so I was half blind and running through the gravel in the night. The stress was worth it when Daph came and we totally shocked her speechless. Hahaha. Hung around drinking beers and stuff before the boys decided to cake Daphne. Sheng, being an idiot, decided to cake Amanda and me as well.

A few of the gang went back when it got late but Gen, Jerilyn, Amanda, Joee, Daphne and I stayed in the recreation room and talked till about 6am. I totally knocked out by 5am and slept. I woke up for a brief moment at 6am and we all left to run across the college in the cold to Glenn. I slept in Daph's room, this time vertically which was by far, a more comfortable position to be in than the last night.

Oh, and during Easter when Joee goes back to Adelaide, he says I can use his room!!!! Yay!!!!!

you must view this.

I'm amazed and actually LOL-ed. Can't decide whether it's because the guy a)bothered to learn the whole routine, b)bothered to memorise it, c)could possibly have done a better job than the originals.

I've finished some of my work in the last 2 days already. Now, I'm left with an individual summary thing which is already 3/4 done, my part of the group report for IPA and HBA compilation thing which I can only start when the rest have sent me their answers. If I finish up the first 2 by today, I'm set for the weekend baby!

Damn freakin happy today. I went for Human Biosciences A workshop in the afternoon and found that I'm quite ahead of the rest when it comes to keeping up with the content. The team is relying mostly on me to answer the report questions cos whenever the facil would ask us questions that would help us in the report, I would be the one answering them while everyone just gives blank stares. The only downside of it is that now I'm left to read through and compile the answers to everyone's questions. At least I won't be marked down in the peer review. I hope.

Didn't go for IDH or PHW lecture today. Was hungry. I'll lectoppia it later. Instead, Daphne, Amanda and I went to the market thingy they always have on Thursdays. I bought a new hoodie for $15 and a new top or $10. Bloody happy. Amanda bought a hoodie, a denim skirt and a halter top. Daphne bought 2 dresses.

Went back to Glenn after going to the Sports Centre where Daphne and Amanda signed up for Pilates. Saw my eye candy as we were walking there and he was walking back. So cute please. Too bad he's too short for me and lives on the other side of my college:(  *omg, my neighbours are totally calling everyone out to play dodgeball. I'm trying to siam them cos I've work to complete* At Glenn, Amanda put on her halter top and went crazy prancing around in it. Hung out in Daphne's room, then Ana's room then Ling Chi's room. Went back only when the Glenn people moved off to have dinner:D

To WC: I think I'll come back in July:D:D:D

School lately has been quite hectic. Not in terms of timetable, but I've to type out loads of stuff by this Friday so my groups have the weekend to compile and tidy up the work for submission within the next 2 weeks. Shits. On a lighter note, I've gone back to doing Less Mills. Body Pump today. My first one in ages. It was pathetic on so many different levels. For one, even with lighter weights, my muscles and everything were quivering. After squats, as I did dead lifts, I could totally feel my hamstrings vibrate like crazy. And my endurance was shit. I even had to stop halfway though lunges to sort of re-set then continue. I NEVER HAD TO DO THAT BEFORE!!!!! Shoulders too. KNN. I'm a bloody weakling. I should stop eating and Pump like crazy now.

Chisholm is having a Girl's Night In but I decided to skip it and stay in my room to type shit. Sians...

The weekend was busy busy. Saturday saw me waking up at 10am to prepare for a picnic that I and some of the Glenn kids had planned. I was the only Chisholmite there out of the 9 of us. Shit. Nvm, we've always said that I was a part-time Glenn resident anyway. Had breakfast then started to making the cookie dough for the cookies I promised everyone. Daphne, Amanda, Ana and Joee came over. Ana made quesadillas, the authentic Mexican kind since she's Mexican. Daphne had already made her cheesecake last night so she just "helped out"(read:take pictures) and Amanda wanted me to teach her to make fried rice. Oh, and Joee made Malaysian curry... from a can. Haha. He bought cans of Malaysian curry and stored them in my room. But when he did, he forgot that we didn't have a can opener. So there we were, a whole bunch calling everyone we knew and searching the cupboards to find a can opener. Amanda gave up and attempted to open the cans with a knife. My neighbour, Paolo, who locked himself out of his room and was waiting for the Residential Assistant to help him also helped us. He found a can opener somewhere and tried to open the cans with it. We found the knives work better. I was so grateful to Paolo that I gave him some of my cookies. The cookies were delish man! Couldn't stop eating them when they came out.
Picnic stuff with pics )

That night, we(Daphne, Amanda, Ana, Rob<Australian neighbour> and I) hung our at Joee's room with a few beers. We started the night watching Superman Returns but switched to Slumdog Millionaire halfway. The movie was good. Stayed there till pretty late... like 1plusam I think.

Sunday saw me going to Ivanhoe gym to join up as a member. FINALLY! The place was quite crowded cos it was open day and many ppl were joining cos they were having a 21% discount on memberships. That means for a year, I'll only be paying $39 a month. After that, I took a stroll down to Aldi to get yogurt. Shit man! Walking down the Australian suburban neighbourhood with your ipod playing Plain White T's is totally the best. You get the whole feel of scene's I've only seen on TV. After buying my yogurt, I waited super long for the bus to come. KNS. The bus was seriously late. I got back, did my laundry and did a bit of work.

At night, Tomomi, Daphne, Rob, Ana and I headed out to a bar to chill. The stupid bar was going to close when we arrived. Turns out Sunday night was a quiet one for them so they can close. But we managed to chill there for a bit, having beers and eating passion fruit and caramel mousse. Shiok. After that, we took a tram down to Macs and hung around there for a bit. Went back where idiot Rob decided it would be funny to jump out from behind the shadows to scare Daphne and me cos we were lagging behind. At Glenn, Tomomi went to bed while the rest of us went back to Rob's room to watch Big Bang Theory. It was super funny and I was quite stunned to know I actually know most of the things the Physics whizzes were saying cos of the wonderful invention that is the Singapore education system. Anyway, I hung around till I almost fell asleep before heading back to Chisholm.

Imagine you're at a party. This song starts playing and everyone takes off their pants and start twirling them above their head like a lasso. That's what happens at every Glenn party.

Today was quite a sian day. Daphne was feeling really down cos of something awful which she saw. I was feeling really lazy... Met my Mum's friend after school. I haven't met her at all, ever, and was quite worried about her being some baddie who wanted to abduct me. Haha. But it was cool. We went to some shopping centre near the airport for pizza. It was good pizza. The crust was not too oily, and not overloaded with 893749743 ingredients. Went back to her place for dinner after walking round. Had vegetarian food since my Mum's friend was vegetarian. Expected it to be gross but it was really really good. I'm part-time vegetarian anyway given my diet of frozen veg, baked beans and toast for almost every dinner.

Hung out at Glenn after a shower. Helped Daphne make cheesecake for our picnic tomorrow. I helped stir, pour, lick the spoon and eat most of the Oreos meant to be mixed into the cheese. Super shiok. Hung out at Joee's room watching vids. His bed is super comfy and he has Pooh sheets. Lol. Stayed till 1am before heading back to Chisholm.

I have a truckload of shit to complete by next week. more readings and stuff. Sians man I'd rather have tutes than bloody workshops.

Today was a shit day in school. Went for discipline mentor activity where we had to do a scavenger hunt. It was supposed to be fun but we had to get into groups of 3 and everyone in the group has to be born on the same month. Turns out I'm the only bloody February in the whole Pod cohort. Amanda called me to join her but we had this 2 irritating Australian girls in our group. Tried to talk to them but just kept to themselves and kept walking ahead, refusing to speak to us unless we initiate conversation. I think we spoke less than 5 sentences to each other in the whole hour that we were with each other. I gave up trying to speak to them after a while and spoke to Amanda in Chinese, scolding the 2 and adding Hokkien vulgarities in for added effect. I was so pissed that I yelled "Ben Dan!!! Ben Dan!!!" as they walked ahead of us. Shits man. After that, we went for a workshop. I couldn't find the damn room cos I forgot they changed the rooms such that the ones on our timetables don't reflect the ones we're supposed to go to. I seriously went into the wrong rooms twice before my group member saw me wandering about fro the right room and called me in. How nice. The workshop was so confusing for me cos you know why? I found that I missed the group meeting on Tuesday. I'm such a screw-up! Like seriously. I was so embarrassed. But my team members were so nice about it. I felt real guilty.

Had lecture, lunch then hung around Glenn for a bit. There, Amanda left us to go help a friend while Daphne, Joee(not a typo. It's really 2 Es) and I headed to Summerhill Village to shop for groceries and stuff for our picnic this Saturday:D Today was super hot and the wait at the tram stop was a long and painful one. Shopped at Safeway and omg, the service there is impeccable. The lady at the sample counter giving out samples for potato chips was so nice! She gave me 3 different flavours in a nice little cup thing and introduced me to the products. And her product knowledge was totally zai. She even asked me which one I liked the best.  Not only that, after everything, she was like, "You don't have to buy today. I just wanted you to know of this product and maybe if you like, you can buy some in aisle 3". No pressure man. Singaporean sample giver outers will just chuck the product to your face, not even ask you for your opinion and pressure you to buy their stuff.

Haven't updated for the weekend cos I've been busy with work. Seriously. I do more readings now than I ever did in GP.

Saturday was spent trying to sort out work and eventually doing some of my assignments before heading down to Glenn with my leftover curry and bland fried rice to have lunch with Daphne and Amanda. From there, we then headed off to David Meyers building. We were there to meet the International Students' Association and those who, like us, registered for their Philip Island tour. We left the school at around 2.20pm for an hour long bus ride to this cafe in the middle of nowhere. All you could see there was the road which we drove on, grass for miles and miles and cows. Had scones there as well as tea. The scones were huge and totally delectable! Had them with some clotted cream and jam. After tea, we headed to the back of the cafe where there were kangaroos, geese, wombats and a whole variety of other animals. Took lots of pics and revealed our true city-kid tendencies when we were scared to even touch the joey.

After that, sat through another long bus-ride to this park where we saw many koalas. They were hard to spot in the tress but we did see a few of them. Looked like blobs of fur sleeping in the trees:D Adorable. I think we went to a total of 2 of those parks before we went to some Seal cliff thing. I forgot what it was called but it started to rain really heavily and it got very cold.Even with my winter jacket on, I couldn't take the cold. It was that bad. We headed out to see the cliffs before hurrying back to the bus to wait for everyone to come back.

After that, was the highlight of the night. Penguin Parade. Personally, I think the whole thing is a total exploitation of the penguins. It's like making people pay money to see me eat. No big deal, they do it every night but the tourism industry in Australia totally makes people pay for viewing them. Not only that, companies mass produce tacky souvenirs to sell to tourists... further exploitation of the beauty of the penguins. I'm excused for being part of the exploitation cos I only realised when I was there. Anyway, we joined in the cold, standing there waiting for the few penguins to make their way to shore. There were about 20-odd waddling out and they were so frickin cute. When we could stand the cold no more, we headed back indoors to look at tacky souvenirs. It was a 2hour long journey back to uni.

On Sunday, I woke up early to get to Ivanhoe for Body Attack. Did the new release, even newer than the one released in Fitness First Singapore. It was alright. Haven't done it in a while but I was still able to do the cardio bits without much problem. I think it's cos of the cold... it makes things so much more comfortable. But the conditioning was crazy. Loads of tricep push-ups and plank walks(i dunno what you call them). And leg conditioning was tough. Lunge then squat, rinse and repeat. Hurt like hell. And I've seriously become jiggly as hell from not doing Pump and Attack in ages. Next Sunday better come fast so I can join up during Open House and get my discount! It's $9.50 casual rate for 1 class. If I join, it's only 39/month.

Headed back for a shower and lunch. Continued with my work. Managed to finish most of it. The only ones left were those I could only do after the week's lectures. Met Daphne and Amanda to go to Summerhill Village for more groceries. Got ourselves beer and wine. Got a whole box of beer which contained 4 6-packs which totals up to 24 bottles and a cask of rose wine. Going back with the box of beer was a joke. Not only had we had people staring at us on the tram, Amanda and I had to make many pit stops along the way to change hands.

At night, after dinner(where my neighbour totally laughed at me cos I "looked like I was struggling" while making my veggies), I headed to Glenn for beers. The whole lot of us just sat there and talked cock while drinking beers. The most fun I had in ages.

Now I understand. I understand why the Singapore government makes us learn Mother Tongue on top of English. It's so that when you come out to study in a society where everyone is mostly monolingual, you can gossip without being caught. And you can give random guys nicknames like Jun Jie and Jie Lun when you talk about them so they won't suspect anything. Haha. Seriously, Daphne, Amanda and I were talking at Glenn yesterday and we were just saying how lucky and proud we are to be Singaporeans.

You can talk shit about how the education system is too stressfull/focuses on academics mainly. However, you can't deny that it has conditioned most of us to be able to converse in English and our Mother Tongue fluently. Coming here, I've also realised how much more ahead we are in terms of standard and how our critical thinking, decision-making and analytical skills are so much more developed compared to students of other nations. Everything we're doing now, we've done before, possibly even at a higher level. In terms of technology, Singaporeans have most everything that other nations have. Our transport sysatems are always efficient and user-friendly. No ridiculous delays, even when your stop is like just after the bus terminal, nolong waiting times for a bus-train, clean and gum-free seats. NO DRUNK PEOPLE! Damn bloody lucky to be Singaporeans.

Yes. So I went for Skippies. Didn't wanna go but my neighbour, James, was like, "I'll see ya there!" Haha. I seriously couldn't escape. In the morn at breakfast, he asked," So you going for skippies tonight?" I told him I'd go if my friends go. Then he went, "That's the problem with girls. They say they'll go if their friends go then their friends will only go if their crush goes." I left him at that then I saw him again in the afternoon when I came back from gym and was speaking to this Vietnamese girl who asked if I was going. Then somehow the conversation ended with James saying, "Alright! I'll come knock on your door tonight. 830pm alright?" So yeah. I went.

Skippies today was sports-themed. So I came in my fbts and Gap cap. Actually wore my yoga pants but it looked ridiculous. So I went with the Malasian/Singaporean group. Met James(speaking of James, I'll tell you something about James) there and we had a few drinks while playing soccer outside. Tried to play volleyball with the ball but it didn't really work. The night ended with me being very red and tipsy while everyone else left for the Eagle Bar.

My outfit.

Had 3 drinks:D With 5 bucks for the cup and 7drinks per cup.

Oh yea... My James story is that ever since I came here, I've come to know like 3 Jameses. My neighbour and 2 others from Podiatry. And I also know a guy called Peter whose middle name is James. How weird is that? And 1 of the Pod Jameses is always in my group for workshops. Haha. So coincidental.

The uni is seriously a black hole of a money sucker. They publish textbooks for us to buy for our units(yes, their very own publications) which they say is optional to purchase. Then, in those units, we're required to do readings for our workshops. Guess where the readings are from. Yes, the bloody textbooks! ISN'T THAT AS GOOD AS MAKING BUYING THEIR TEXTBOOKS COMPULSORY? KNN.

Week 2 of uni has been shit so far and it's only day 2. The workload is starting to build up. I have 4 enquiries for each subject, all of which require a group written report and oral presentation due by the 5th week an an individual report due by the 6th... That's like 12 pieces of work in 5 weeks due within days of each other. Siao. Like PW all over again... times 4! And I have a different group for a different unit which makes contacting people and remembering them all the more difficult. I can't believe I spent the afternoon yesterday watching "New in Town" and "Wonderwoman" online. Siao already!

I'm going to bloody get my books tomorrow and start chiong-in my Individual Determinants of Health and Perspectives of Health and Wellbeing.

*am watching Legend of Chun-Li online now. Edmund Chen is in it! Hahaha. He plays young Chun-Li's father. How weird.

Been busy today. Woke up at 10am, had breakfast then met up with Amanda and Daphne to go to Summerhill Village. We wanted to go to the Target there to have a look at the winter jackets. Spent quite a while deciding on which jacket to pick. In the end, I chose a grey belted one. Looks really smart:D After we chose our jackets, we decided to walk around. That's when the real fun began. Target has everything, clothes, shoes, toys, homeware, DVDs, video games, handphones, make-up... You name it, Target's got it.

Chanced upon this while walking through the make-up section. So THAT'S how she does it.

Anyway, I had to leave early at 3.45pm cos my relative invited me to her place at Armadale for dinner. Took a tram down to Parliament station before changing to a train. I learnt many things about the stupid Connex trains in my hour and a half long journey there. Unlike the MRT in Singapore, the trains don't stop at every single stop in the weekends and the doors do not automatically open for you. How the hell did I find that out? Well, every possible mishap that could occur happened to me today! I took the correct "stop at all stations" train to Armadale. But as the train stopped, I was there standing stupidly at the door, waiting for it to bloody open. I knew something was up when it didn't after a long while. My suspicions were affirmed when the stupid train left the station. KNN. I asked some woman sitting nearby and she was like, "You have to open the door yourself". Smart.

So I got off a stop after and decided that, "Hey! I should take a train in the opposite direction!" Well, the stupid train I boarded was the weekend express train, so it passed by 4 or 5 stops(including mine of course) and I ended up in South Yarra. Eff-ing shit!!!!! By then, I was seriously pissed and made sure to take extra care in checking that I got on an "all stops" train and opened the bloody train door.

When I finally reached Armadale 40mins from the intended arrival time, my relative(I have no idea how she's related to me) picked me up and we walked over to her place. I think I mentioned to a lot of people that I know my Chia-side of the family is huge and that the Lee-side has like no one. Well, I found out where the Lee side is already! They're all in frickin Melbourne! The whole lot of us gathered for dinner. It's seriously been such a long time since I had home-cooked Chinese food.

After dinner, we all gathered to chit-chat about life and tell funny stories about Singlish. Everyone also attempted to pronounce "Genevieve" which then led to the younger 2nd generation Australian-Singaporeans making fun of the 1st gen about the Singlish way they pronounce things. Haha. That was a laugh. One of the relatives gave me a lift back after but not before they tar-paued curry for me:D:D

Tomorrow's Labour Day! But I still have classes. Crazy uni.

Today was great! I finally found a cheap and good gym with Body Pump and Body Attack. Did a free trial today. I finally managed to find the place after stopping 1 stop too early on the 250 and 1 stop too late on the connecting 549. Smart. I managed to come just in time for the appointment though. This lady, Helen, helped me out. She showed me round the place and talked me through the membership and payment options. Apparently, there's a coming promotion for the centre's 21st birthday on the 22nd of March. Membership prices are going at 21% off. So that equates to paying only $18.96 a fortnight. How sweet is that? Of course the lockers and showers are not as nice as Fitness First but as long as get in some exercise and not turn into a ball, I'll live with that. So I'll prob come down again on the 22nd to join.

I came back in my dirty gym stuff to shower then made myself a lunch of frozen mixed veggies, baked beans and 2 pieces of weet-bix. Pathetic. I had no more food left unless you count the Bailey's chocolates and Philip Island Penguin chocs proper food for a meal. Lately, I've been living on those(baked beans and frozen veggies). That, or peanut butter toast and weet-bix with milk. Absolutely pathetic. I'm just too lazy nowadays to stir-fry noodles or do any cooking whatsoever.

Was supposed to go to Summerhill Vilage to look around in Target for a jacket but my friends had laundry complications in Glenn so we postponed the trip to tomorrow. By then, I was already quite tired and decided to take a short nap. 20mins later, I changed my mind and went off to Northland Shopping Centre to get groceries from Safeway. Stocked up on more baked beans, weet-bix, frozen veggies(mixed and broccoli), eggs, bananas, oranges and apples. The stupid place was out of low-fat milk. Guess I'll have to get that at Cole's or something. I was quite excited to find that I bought all those for like less than $20. I am such an aunty.
